Lukashenko calls on SCO: People expect concrete steps from us

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) should take concrete steps towards the formation of a multipolar world order, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during his speech at the “SCO Plus” format meeting, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Bishkek reports.

“People expect concrete steps from us towards multipolarity. Time is passing. If we lose time, we may find ourselves in the current situation of the UN,” Lukashenko said.

The Belarusian President emphasized that it is impossible to solve global problems such as climate change, combating epidemics and stabilizing energy markets without the participation of SCO countries.

According to him, strengthening cooperation between the SCO and the UN could contribute to ensuring international peace and security and combating terrorism, cyber threats and illicit drug trafficking.

Lukashenko believes that, in the future, the SCO could become a catalyst for the renewal of the UN, helping to strengthen the organization’s role in addressing global problems.
