The King of the Kingdom of Gureshaba, located on the Nenon Island of New Caledonia, Doku Hmaiai Hippolyte Sinewami Htamumu, has applied to join the Baku Initiative Group, APA reports.
In his application, the king stated that since the occupation of his country by France in 1853, within the framework of his people's struggle against the French colonial system, he, as the Great Kanak Chief, alongside other major Kanak leaders, has taken on the responsibility of raising of the unilateral declaration of sovereignty of the kingdoms issued on September 24, 2024, to the international level.
"For this reason, I sincerely request that the Kingdom of Gureshaba be accepted as a member of the Baku Initiative Group," the king wrote in his application.
"Mr. President, I express my gratitude for your support and solidarity with my people's struggle and respectfully ask that you accept my highest respect and honor," the statement emphasizes.
