By hosting COP29, Azerbaijan has demonstrated what global solidarity truly means, said Kenyan delegate and founder of the SMACHS Foundation, Charlene Ruto, during her speech at the founding conference of the Global South NGO Platform, APA reports.
“Drought, the drying up of water sources, and the suffering of communities living in those areas—this is our reality. To protect ecosystems, we must act together. We must engage young communities in this effort. The salvation of the planet depends on our collective efforts. By hosting COP29, Azerbaijan showcased the essence of global solidarity. Without strong partnerships, solving global issues is impossible. The Global South NGO Platform should be a turning point for us,” she added.
