It is important to define the future priorities of our partnership, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the Informal Consultative Meeting of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries, APA's correspondent dispatched to Kyrgyzstan reports.

"It is important to define the future priorities of our partnership. The intensity of contacts at all levels clearly demonstrates our states' commitment to constructive cooperation for the benefit of our fraternal peoples and the prosperity of the region as a whole. In this regard, the completion of the process of signing the Treaty on Friendship, Good-Neighborliness and Cooperation for the Development of Central Asia in the 21st Century has been an important achievement. This historic document opens a new stage in our strategic partnership and forms the political framework for regional cooperation based on the principles of mutual trust, respect, and responsibility for the common future of our fraternal peoples. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for joining this important treaty. I believe that the next stage should be the practical implementation of its provisions. In this regard, I propose the drafting and subsequent adoption of an action plan that will define the specific areas of our long-term cooperation with the aim of further strengthening friendship and good-neighborly relations and expanding trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation," the Kazakh president said.
