Kars and Aghdam will become sister cities, Zamin Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Kars, told APA’s Türkiye bureau.
The Consul General said that the possibility of opening Azerbaijan Trade Houses in Kars and Igdir is currently being considered. In addition, the process of establishing sister-city relations is underway to build a bridge between the cities of Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
Relations with the cities within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General are also being strengthened.
“Sister-city relations have already been established between Erzurum and Shusha. It is planned to establish sister-city relations between Kars and Aghdam as well. I believe that establishing sister-city ties between Azerbaijani and Turkish cities makes a significant contribution to cooperation between the two countries,” the Consul General noted.
