Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Türkiye Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held a telephone conversation, APA reports citing the foreign ministry.
Minister Jeyhun Bashramov made a phone call to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu and conveyed his condolences to the families of those who died as a result of the strong earthquake in Kahramanmaras, Gaziantep, and other southern regions of Turkiye, as well as to the government and the Turkish people. The minister wished the injured to recover soon.
Mr. Bayramov stressed that Azerbaijan always stands by brotherly Turkiye and is ready to render any assistance to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake.
Jeyhun Bayramov said that under the instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, a flexible rescue force consisting of 370 people would leave for brotherly Turkiye to support the search and rescue operations.
Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu expressed his gratitude for this solidarity and support.
