Jeyhun Bayramov holds phone conversation with Bangladeshi counterpart

A phone conversation took place between Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told APA.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Khalilur Rahman on his election as President of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and wished him success in his future activities. It was emphasized that his election to this prestigious position is an indication of Bangladesh’s growing role in the international arena.

During the phone conversation, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh were discussed. The sides noted the existing potential for expanding cooperation in political dialogue, economic and trade relations, education, humanitarian affairs, and other fields.

The ministers reviewed issues of cooperation within multilateral platforms. In this context, the importance of mutual support and cooperation within the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, and other international platforms was emphasized.

During the phone conversation, the ministers also exchanged views on issues on the regional and international security agenda.
