Israeli President: Azerbaijan became important crossroads for regional and diplomatic dialogue

Azerbaijan and Israel have found the opportunity to achieve common goals in security, innovation, tourism, energy, trade, and many major areas, said Israeli President Isaac Herzog in his video address at the event held at the Azerbaijani embassy on the occasion of Independence Day, APA reports.

The Israeli President congratulating the people and state of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Independence Day, extended his sincerest wishes on behalf of the Israeli people: “On this Independence Day, as we celebrate the progress, purpose, and pride of the Republic of Azerbaijan, please accept my most sincere congratulations on behalf of the people and State of Israel.”

The Israeli President said that amid this relations, Azerbaijan has become a symbol of tolerance, diversity, and equality: “The relations between the Jewish and Azerbaijani peoples have lasted for centuries and millennia. Over such a long period, Azerbaijan is a symbol of tolerance, diversity, equality, and a proof that coexistence, respect, and cooperation between people and nations of different cultures are possible.”

He emphasized that the spirit of mutual respect and friendship between the two countries serves the realization of common goals.

The Israeli President noted that Azerbaijan has become an important crossroads for regional and diplomatic dialogue.

“We had the honor to personally observe the significant development ensured by President Ilham Aliyev in his country and to jointly discuss opportunities for further development and expansion of our cooperation. I congratulate my dear friend President Ilham Aliyev and want to express my firm confidence in Azerbaijan’s future development and the strengthening of ties between our peoples,” Herzog emphasized.

Herzog also thanked Azerbaijan for its support to Israel at the Eurovision: “The support shown by the Azerbaijani people and jury during the recently held Eurovision was an extremely impressive gesture.”

He also, in his speech, recalling the Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip called on the international community to be vigilant.
