Israeli Ambassador: Development in Karabakh is astonishing

It is truly astonishing to witness the development that has taken place in Karabakh in recent years, said Ronen Kraus, Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan, during his visit to Zangilan, APA reports

He noted that it was his first time visiting Karabakh: “I’m extremely excited about this trip. Yesterday, we were in Fuzuli, visited various places, and spent the night in Shusha. I have heard about this city for many years, and seeing it with my own eyes was especially moving. Today, we continue to explore Karabakh, and we are currently in Zangilan. During my first meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, I said that I planned to visit Karabakh as soon as possible, and I’m very pleased to have this opportunity to visit such an impressive and beautiful place.”

The ambassador emphasized that the progress achieved in Karabakh in recent years is remarkable: “During our visits, we saw the remains of old villages—mostly ruins. Right next to them, we are witnessing new infrastructure, new residential settlements, villages, buildings, and people returning to their homeland. The way the old and the new come together presents a truly unique picture. I believe that thanks to Azerbaijan’s efforts and ongoing investments in Karabakh, the infrastructure will continue to expand—the roads, bridges, and tunnels are already quite impressive, and their development will go on. I am confident that in the coming years, more people will return to their native lands in Karabakh and settle there again.”

Note that participants of the international conference on “Uniting efforts and expanding cooperation to solve the problem of missing persons”, organized by the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, visited Aghdara and Shusha yesterday and traveled to Zangilan today.
