"I became the first Israeli ambassador to visit Shusha," said Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan George Deek at a press conference on the results of his diplomatic tenure, APA reports.
He noted that he witnessed the reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories, including in Aghdam and Lachin, and added that Israel has always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The diplomat also recalled being at the site in Ganja that was hit by missiles launched by the Armenian army during the Patriotic War.
George Deek characterized Azerbaijan as a reliable partner for Israel. He noted that Azerbaijan is already playing an active role in the Middle East.
He also highlighted the support of the Azerbaijani people during Eurovision.
