The President of Iran Masud Pezeshkian has received Shahin Mustafayev, the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, APA reports citing the official website of the President of Iran.
Today, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian received a delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev.
At the meeting, Pezeshkian touched upon the historical and cultural partnership of the two states and emphasized the importance of the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.
The President of Iran also noted the importance of accelerating the implementation of agreements between the two countries.
Pezeshkian said that Iran applauds the establishment of railways and highways between the two states, and at the same time wants to continue and expand cooperation in energy and agriculture.
Shahin Mustafayev, in his turn, declared that the Republic of Azerbaijan is ready to expand relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that relations with Iran are of great importance in the areas of economy, trade, energy, culture, transit and completion and development of common road and railway lines between the two countries, as well as security and defense.
Shahin Mustafayev expressed hope that the Iranian President will participate in the COP29 event to be held in Baku next month.
A number of other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
