The fact that we are here today in Baku reflects the historic ties, friendship between two neighboring peoples, the Chairman of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said at the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, held in Baku under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf mentioned that the world is undergoing profound and multifaceted changes: "Asia, where nearly 60% of the world's population lives, is the cradle of many civilizations. Based on the shared values among our peoples on this vast continent, each of us is deeply committed to peace, multilateralism, and justice. In this era of global interconnectedness, problems in any corner of the world affect politics and behaviors worldwide. Pandemics, climate change, and colonial policies transcend the borders of regional states. At this transitional phase of global unity, multilateral relations are not just an option. The fundamental need of the current international system is multilateral relations."
"We all share humanitarian responsibility regarding Gaza. We believe that the future of Palestine and Gaza should be approached from the perspective of the self-determination of all Palestinians. We call on all member parliaments of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly to support the Palestinian people. We are also in favor of diversifying trade routes. The Iranian Parliament is ready to take any step to strengthen multilateral cooperation in Asia and to diversify multilateralism," emphasized Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Chairman of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran.
