The 3+3 format in the South Caucasus is a successful experience in resolving regional disputes, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagai said at a press conference today, APA reports.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry official said that “South Caucasus countries should strengthen regional mechanisms to prevent transregional interventions, and Iran is actively participating in this direction.”
“The 3+3 format in the South Caucasus is a framework with history. This format was created for consultations between the countries of the region, including Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the states surrounding the South Caucasus. So far, numerous meetings have been held in various countries, and one of the first meetings took place in Tehran. This mechanism has proven itself as a regional platform that helps resolve disputes, especially between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” he noted.
