“Iran is against any move for geopolitical and border changes,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanani said at a press conference held today, APA reports.
According to him, "these days, the issue of the corridor is in the center of attention more than ever".
Kanani pointed out that "the recent visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Azerbaijan, as well as the statements of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov make up the basis of the published news and analyzes about the corridor”.
“Iran will continue to support the removal of blocks in economic relations and the encouragement of peace between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia within the framework of respect for independence and territorial integrity in the region. This is the dream of all the states of the region.
Some want to turn the Caucasus region into a place of instability. They are pursuing instability in the region at any cost. We express our strong opposition to the attempt to change the borders in the region," the MFA official stressed.
He added that Iran is in favor of strengthening the "3+3" regional format for conflict resolution.
