"Iran supports the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement," said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei during today’s press conference, APA reports, citing Tasnim.
"Regarding the Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan issue, we have always emphasized our support for the peace process between the two countries and have encouraged both sides to sign the peace agreement as soon as possible. Peace and stability in the South Caucasus region are of strategic importance to the Islamic Republic of Iran. We maintain good and balanced relations with both Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and stress the continuation of our policy of good neighborliness," the Foreign Ministry official said.
