The observer mission of Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) will observe the extraordinary parliamentary elections to be held in Azerbaijan on September 1, the organization’s secretariat told APA.
It was noted that a letter was addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko on behalf of the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova. In the letter, the observation mission of the organization was invited to observe the voting process that will be organized in Azerbaijan.
The Secretariat of Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member Nations informed that the composition of the monitoring mission to be formed will include officials of the supreme legislative bodies of the member states and experts of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development within this organization.
