The international importance of the CAMCA region is growing, APA reports.
Sodyq Safoev, Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and former Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States, said this during his speech at the plenary session titled “Statesmen’s Conversation: CAMCA’s Role in a Changing World” at the CAMCA 2026 Regional Forum held in Baku.
He noted that the CAMCA platform has created an important opportunity to convey the voice of the countries of the region to an international audience and raise awareness about them.
Safoev said that one of the articles published in the US press in 1996 contributed to greater awareness of Central Asia and the South Caucasus among the international community.
“Without this platform, it would have been difficult for us to find our own audience,” Safoev emphasized.
He also noted the contributions made to the development of the region by diplomats and other participants who have cooperated within CAMCA for many years.
