International Commission on Missing Persons: We must understand our responsibility regarding missing persons

"We must try to understand our responsibility,” said Andreas Kleiser, Director for Policy and Cooperation at the UN  International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), during his speech at the international conference on "Addressing the problems of missing persons: upholding the right to know for the families", APA reports. 

He said that human rights are the highest principle: "It is absolutely necessary to protect and respect families. We must never forget the issues on hostages and missing persons. It is one of the most sensitive issues in which joint experience should be exchanged."

Chiril Gaburici, former Prime Minister of Moldova and Member of Nizami Ganjavi International Center noted that at present, take such steps should be taken that would insure our future: "The fate of missing persons should be highly supported. We have to take steps towards solving this issue hand in hand. Voicing issues related to the fate of missing persons at international conferences will make a positive contribution. Personal initiatives should also play their role in this matter.”
