ICDO Secretary-General met with Permanent Representative of China

The Secretary-General of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO), Arguj Kalantarli, met with the Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the UN Office in Geneva and other international organizations, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Chen Xu at the organization's headquarters, APA reports.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on strengthening multilateral cooperation in the field of civil protection, especially on the issues of emergency preparedness and coordination of disaster response measures.

The contributions that the existing experience of the Chinese side in the field of large-scale disaster management can make to capacity-building programs for the member states of the ICDO were discussed.

The discussions paid special attention to the application of technology and innovation in the field of disaster risk reduction, early warning systems and resilience strategies.

During the meeting, confidence was expressed in the development of future cooperation and the strengthening of the international civil protection network on the basis of sustainable partnership.
