ICDO Secretary-General meets with Syria's Permanent Representative in Geneva

The Secretary General of the ICDO met with Syria’s Permanent Representative in Geneva, APA reports.

The Secretary General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Arguj Kalantarli, met with the Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the UN Office at Geneva and other specialized agencies in Switzerland, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Heydar Ali Ahmad, at the organization's headquarters in Geneva.

During the meeting, a fruitful exchange of views was held on deepening institutional cooperation between Syria and the ICDO and exploring new cooperation opportunities of mutual interest.

The meeting emphasized the possibilities of organizing joint training programs, advanced training courses, and seminars in order to strengthen partnership relations. Discussions were also held on the role of the ICDO in the field of civil protection and disaster risk reduction in the reconstruction process of Syria and possible areas of cooperation.

During the discussions, the need to develop cooperation based on common goals in the field of civil protection and disaster risk management was emphasized.
