Hungary welcomes Azerbaijan and Armenia's recent steps taken regarding borders

“We welcome the latest steps taken by Azerbaijan and Armenia in the direction of determining the border line,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó, who is on visit to Baku, at the press briefing, APA reports.

“We are ready to assist for the restoration of peace and prosperity in the region. As Hungary, we are also ready to support for Garabagh’s demining,” – he said.

According to Szijjártó, Hungary has significant cooperation with Azerbaijan, and both countries are in a critical region. He added that the crisis in Ukraine is is widespread and affects everyone.

The Hungarian minister said that cooperation in the field of energy security is successful: “We have started activities regarding with the natural gas supply. 1.5 million cubic meters of natural gas was sent from Azerbaijan to Hungary. This is efficient cooperation. We intend to increase the volume of gas to be supplied from Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani oil will also be an integral part of the energy basket in Hungary.”
