Tomorrow's informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Hungary is a great opportunity to promote our country, Zoltán Egeresi, a researcher at Hungary’s Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade, told journalists in Budapest, APA reports.

Zoltán Egeresi noted that relations between Hungary and Azerbaijan have truly entered a golden era in recent years: “Hungary has always supported Azerbaijan and its territorial integrity. On the other hand, Azerbaijan is a very important energy source for Hungary. Hungary is now purchasing gas from Azerbaijan as well. It is crucial for Hungary. Hungarian companies are also working in various sectors in Azerbaijan.”

He emphasized that Hungary considers itself part of the Turkic world. Egeresi also noted that Hungarian universities offer generous quotas for students from Azerbaijan and other Turkic states: “Every year, 200 Azerbaijani students are admitted to our universities. The Azerbaijani community in Budapest is quite strong, and the students are very active.”
