“Türkiye–Azerbaijan relations are considered one of the main pillars of peace and security in the region,” said Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmat Hajiyev, during a panel session held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Antalya reports.

He noted that these relations have been further strengthened by the Shusha Declaration.

Hikmat Hajiyev stated that Azerbaijan has also expanded bilateral cooperation models into trilateral and multilateral formats: “There are Türkiye–Azerbaijan–Georgia and Türkiye–Azerbaijan–Iran cooperation mechanisms. This approach strengthens regional ownership and serves the interests of all parties.”

The Presidential aide emphasized that this approach is also reflected in specific areas, one of which is energy security: “Azerbaijan has, on its own initiative, delivered its hydrocarbon resources to the global market. These projects contribute to global energy security and also ensure the interests of regional countries.”

Hikmat Hajiyev added that this process is of great importance both in terms of demonstrating regional leadership and developing interregional cooperation.
