Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center to be built in Tbilisi-PHOTO

A Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev will be built in Tbilisi, APA's local bureau reports.

The center was considered a necessary public need project and, by order of Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, the relevant company was given the right to confiscate the real estate of 5 individuals for the implementation of the project.

The document states that the Tbilisi State Azerbaijani Drama Theater named after Heydar Aliyev has been operating in Georgia for many years, the building located on Gorgasali Street is not sufficient for its activities. The political leadership of Azerbaijan and Georgia decided to build a new building for the theater at 25 Gorgasali Street. The groundbreaking ceremony of the new building was held on October 27, 2023. Later, during the design of the construction site, it was determined that the land area was not enough for construction. Therefore, the leadership of both countries decided to expand the construction site.

The construction of the Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev is planned in that area. The large building of the center will be built on an area of 5,380 square meters. The building will house a concert hall and various venues for cultural events.
