GSNP joins UN global cooperation network

The United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) has included the Global South NGO Platform (GSNP), established in Azerbaijan in 2025 and bringing together NGOs from the Non-Aligned Movement region, in its global registry and recognized it as an alliance, APA reports.

UNOSSC plays an important role within the UN system in promoting and coordinating South-South and triangular cooperation.

GSNP’s verified profile on UNOSSC provides an opportunity to present the activities, initiatives, and cooperation opportunities of its member organizations to a broader international audience. This is an important achievement in expanding cooperation among civil society institutions of Global South countries, promoting the mutual exchange of experience and knowledge, as well as strengthening opportunities for NGOs to participate in international processes.

Through the UNOSSC platform’s “Submit Your Demand” and “Offer Support” mechanisms, organizations can present their needs and cooperation proposals, establish contacts with potential partners, and promote the exchange of experience among different countries. This creates additional opportunities for GSNP’s core mission — enabling the voices of Global South NGOs to be heard more clearly at the international level, expanding their participation in global dialogue and decision-making processes, and forming new partnership networks.
