GNAT committee chairman reveals main condition for Türkiye and Armenia to normalize relations

"There was a war with Armenia and it is over, there is an opportunity for a new peaceful environment," Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye told journalists, APA reports.

Fuat Oktay said that Azerbaijan and Armenia can find a way to peace if they work together: “This peace can be ensured as long as third countries do not interfere. We hope for peace to be achieved in the near future. It is not correct to say that Azerbaijan is “forcing Armenia to change its Constitution.” Azerbaijan is doing this to achieve lasting peace. As long as there is an Armenian Constitution that contains claims againsty Azerbaijani lands, it is impossible to achieve lasting peace. We say this to Armenia as well. We are ready to normalize relations with Armenia, but Armenia must achieve lasting peace with Azerbaijan.”
