The normalization of Türkiye–Armenia relations is directly linked to the normalization of Azerbaijan–Armenia relations, Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT), told journalists, APA reports.
According to him, these processes are being carried out in parallel: “We hope that all of this will progress very quickly and that the region’s agenda will be defined not by conflicts, but by peace, prosperity, and development. From now on, we will focus more on the future.”
The GNAT committee chair stated that within the framework of Armenia–Azerbaijan relations, both the transportation of wheat via Kazakhstan and Russia and the initiation of trade relations demonstrate Azerbaijan’s self-confidence.
He noted that even before the planned agreement is officially signed and before any legal obligations arise, Azerbaijan has, in practice, begun to implement the agreement step by step: “This is a very important indicator and demonstrates Azerbaijan’s confidence in itself.”
