On September 12, 2025, the Global South NGO Platform held an online meeting in connection with the "South-South Cooperation Day" declared by the UN, APA reports.
Representatives from more than 70 NGOs from Global South countries participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the importance of reforms at the UN and ensuring the representation of Global South countries among the permanent members of the Security Council was emphasized.
The meeting highlighted the need to strengthen solidarity among NGOs from Global South countries and the importance of their coordinated activities.
The platform represents the voice of civil society in Global South countries and works diligently to ensure their opinions are taken into account in international decision-making processes.
During the event, a video message was also broadcast on behalf of the Secretariat of the Global South NGO Platform.
