Preparations for the upcoming plenary meeting of the United Nations Global Operational Network Against Corruption continue in Baku, APA reports, citing the Prosecutor General's Office

In line with President Ilham Aliyev's directives, the cooperation between the prosecution authorities and international partners remains active. Representatives of the UN's Global Operational Network Against Corruption (GlobE Network) have visited Azerbaijan ahead of the 6th Plenary Meeting and the 10th Session of the Governance Committee, which will be held in Azerbaijan from May 19-23 this year.

During the visit, the delegation, led by GlobE Network Coordinator Rozitsa Zahariyeva, was received by Deputy Prosecutor General and Head of the Anti-Corruption Department, Nazim Rajabov.

In a meeting attended by members of the Local Organizing Committee from the Prosecutor General's Office, Rajabov provided extensive information on legal and institutional reforms in the fight against corruption in Azerbaijan. He also highlighted the efforts made by the host country in preparation for the upcoming plenary meeting.

Rozitsa Zahariyeva shared her positive impressions of the visit and expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office for the organizational and preparatory work done so far in relation to the upcoming event.

Later, a working meeting was held between the foreign representatives and members of the Local Organizing Committee to discuss various aspects of the preparation process.

During the visit, the guests also toured the venues and other resources that will host the international event.

It is noted that at the 5th Plenary Meeting of the GlobE Network held in September last year in Beijing, China, Azerbaijan's initiative to host the next similar event in 2025 in Baku was unanimously supported. Azerbaijan was also selected to be represented on the Management Committee for a three-year term, joining the group of 15 countries. The Network, which includes 232 law enforcement agencies from 126 countries and 16 international organizations as observers, serves as a global platform for organizing joint activities, and effective exchange of information and experience in the fight against corruption.
