Over the past 30 years, great efforts have been required to restore relations and negotiate a peace agreement in the aftermath of the conflict and its suffering, said the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in a joint press statement with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.
The German President stated that a great opportunity has arisen for an agreement, and it must be seized: “Even after the agreement is signed, it will take many years to turn it into reality. A trustworthy reconciliation will require a long time. The first step is the signing of the peace agreement. I believe it will happen.”
