The Middle Corridor passing through Azerbaijan holds significant perspective for Germany, and its importance will grow further once the South Caucasus becomes a more stable region, said Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, during a press statement with Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
“The peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan is of great importance. Significant steps have been taken over the past year. On March 13, a statement was issued regarding the agreement on the text of the peace treaty. A great opportunity has emerged to finalize this agreement. I believe the peace treaty will be signed. This opportunity must not be missed. Political will and compromises are needed to see this process through to the end. I hope it succeeds, and we will support it as much as we can,” Steinmeier emphasized.
