German Foreign Minister Johann David Wadephul has held a phone call with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
The sides discussed the current security situation in the region and the impact of rising tensions in the Middle East on regional and global security.
The German minister expressed concern over Iran’s drone attacks against Azerbaijan, strongly condemned the attacks, and stated that Germany stands in solidarity with Azerbaijan.
The German minister also thanked the Azerbaijani side for its support in the evacuation of German citizens from Iran.
During the phone call, the sides also exchanged views on the prospects for the development of Azerbaijan–Germany bilateral relations, as well as other regional issues of mutual interest.
