The Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), Sahiba Gafarova, who is on a visit to Georgia, met with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports, citing the Georgian government administration.
During the meeting, the parties discussed strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, joint regional projects, and issues of economic cooperation.
The effectiveness of the 10th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, held in January this year under the co-chairmanship of both countries’ prime ministers, was highlighted and the importance of high-level visits in deepening cooperation was also emphasized.
The sides also discussed promoting the efficient functioning of the Middle Corridor.
During the meeting, the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus region was stressed. The Prime Minister stated that Georgia remains committed to continuing its contributions to ensuring peace and prosperity in the region.
