Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports citing Press Service of the Georgia's Government Administration.

The conversation's main topics included the key directions of the strategic partnership and successful cooperation between the two countries in various spheres, including in multilateral formats.

Ali Asadov congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze on his appointment as Prime Minister of Georgia and underlined the importance of his first visit to Baku in the rank of Head of Government.

Attention at the meeting was paid to furthering trade and economic relations and joint regional projects. The importance of the Middle Corridor, including in terms of freight transport, was underlined. The parties spoke about the exceptional role of the two countries' Intergovernmental Economic Commission in further developing economic cooperation, and pointed out that the commission is scheduled to convene in the near future.

The special significance of establishing stability and peace in the region was pointed out, along with the role of constructive dialogue in this process. Irakli Kobakhidze reaffirmed the Georgian Government's readiness to continue contributing to ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus in the future.

Irakli Kobakhidze invited Ali Asadov to pay an official visit to Georgia.
