Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili has held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports, citing the press service of Mikheil Kavelashvili.
"The sides positively evaluated the close friendship between the two countries and discussed the main directions of the Georgia-Azerbaijan strategic partnership."
During the meeting, the importance of stable and peaceful development in the region was emphasized. Kavelashvili stated that in the context of ongoing global conflicts, trade wars, and geopolitical tensions, maintaining stability and peace in the region has become even more crucial.
Both sides expressed their readiness to further strengthen the exemplary strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The Georgian president thanked Azerbaijan for its unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The discussion also touched upon the details of President Kavelashvili's upcoming official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, scheduled for April 15–16, the press service added.
