Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan on the sidelines of the UN Conference in Turkmenistan, APA reports, citing the Georgian government.
The meeting discussed friendly relations and strategic partnership between Georgia and Armenia, successful cooperation in various fields, as well as current processes in the region.
“The meeting paid special attention to the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus. The Prime Minister emphasized that the joint statement on the completion of negotiations on a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is an important step in this direction. Irakli Kobakhidze also confirmed the readiness of the Georgian government to promote dialogue and thereby ensure long-term peace and stability in the region,” the statement said.
