The chairpersons of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis committees, who are on a visit to Tbilisi, discussed several issues with the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, including the current situation in the South Caucasus, regional peace and stability, and the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Türkiye trilateral cooperation format, Shalva Papuashvili shared this information on his social media account, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.
"We mentioned the importance of high-level visits for the further development of relations. The political views and priorities of the governments of Georgia and Azerbaijan which are aimed at protecting sovereignty, national interests, and the well-being of the populations were highlighted. We discussed the current situation in the South Caucasus. We emphasized the importance of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I also mentioned the effective cooperation between Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye in a trilateral format," Shalva Papuashvili said.
Papuashvili thanked Azerbaijan for supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and emphasized that Georgia, similarly, supports Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
