“The state visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Georgia once again confirms that Azerbaijan-Georgia relations have always been a pillar of stability, peace and effective cooperation in the South Caucasus,” Georgian expert Viktor Kipiani told journalists, APA reports.

Viktor Kipiani said that the world is changing, and new trends are emerging, especially from a regional perspective: “In this context, it is necessary to once again discuss how this partnership can become more competitive, stronger and more modern. It is expected that these issues will be discussed within the framework of this visit.”

The expert noted that several important trends are being observed in terms of building collective security systems: “It is clear that multilateral relations in the field of security are important. The regional context, especially the trilateral format between Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye, has existed for a long time and is becoming even more relevant today. In this regard, the time has come, especially for Georgia, to take more active steps. It must be said openly that this is necessary in order to better adapt to this process. As for Azerbaijan-Georgia relations, I believe that thanks to the emotional bond and shared historical past that unite us, we understand each other better and more deeply feel the problems typical of small states. Today, Azerbaijan presents itself as a middle-power state, and President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly stated this in his speeches.”
