Georgia is not considering joining the 3+3 format: FM

"Georgia is not considering joining 3+3 format", said Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili during a panel discussion on "Challenges and Opportunities for Regional Cooperation in the South Caucasus" at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, APA reports.

"Although Georgia is not part of the 3+3 format, it is always referred to as such. We are not members of this platform. We cooperate with all our neighbors—with one exception, and that is Russia. There is a reason for that: two of Georgia’s regions remain under Russian occupation, and Russian military presence continues there. Therefore, we are not considering joining this format. Our only dialogue format with the Russian Federation is the Geneva International Discussions. This is where Georgia and Russia discuss conflict-related issues, with participation from the US, UN, OSCE, and EU. This format, which allows discussion of conflict-related issues, is a valuable platform for us. When it comes to other neighbors, we enjoy excellent cooperation—with Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Türkiye. We have successful examples of this collaboration. With Türkiye and Azerbaijan, we have carried out significant projects over decades—projects important not only for the immediate region but also for the broader area,” Bochorishvili said.
