Georgia hopes Azerbaijan and Armenia will sign peace treaty soon, FM Darchiashvili says

"Issues in various directions were discussed within the framework of the tripartite meeting. There are strategic partnerships and exemplary contacts with Georgia, Azerbaijan and Türkiye on bilateral level," Georgian Foreign Minister Ilya Darchiashvili said during a briefing on the results of the tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye held in Baku today, APA reports.

"These two countries are Georgia's biggest trade partners. Cooperations in political, economic, trade, defense, culture, transport and energy fields were discussed. Of course, we paid special attention to the processes in the region and our joint efforts to overcome these challenges," the Minister noted.

Ilya Darchiashvili brought to attention that Georgia resolutely supports peaceful coexistence in the South Caucasus and is ready to contribute to the process of encouraging peace and constructive cooperation in the region.

"We are hopeful that Azerbaijan and Armenia will achieve an agreement and will sign the peace treaty and this will be a turning point for the long-term peace and stability in the region," Georgian Foreign Minister stated.
