Georgia-Azerbaijan neighborly relations can be example for Armenia - Assistant to President

"We are connecting different regions with specific projects," said Hikmet Hajiyev, the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration, during the panel themed Geopolitical Shifts: Responsible Partnerships versus Rivalry at the XII Global Baku Forum, APA reports.

The President's assistant stated that Azerbaijan is trying to unite like-minded countries: "The resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict is an example for conflict resolution. Sometimes Armenian counterparts say that Azerbaijan has defined Armenia's independence because the policy of occupation was a threat to their independence. Some developments are now taking place in the Middle East. Azerbaijan is geographically close to the Middle East. Taking these realities into account, we are trying to strengthen our relations with Central Asia in our foreign policy priorities. Also, Türkiye and the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) are a new reality in this region. We have resources. At the same time, the relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan are an example of neighborhood relations. This can also be an example for Armenia. The Caspian Sea does not divide us, it unites us. The market is vast, and two major economic powers are located at the poles of the sea. Azerbaijan’s multilateral policy does not end there. Through its energy concept, Azerbaijan aims to connect 3-4 seas. Azerbaijan's energy projects have already reached the shores of the Adriatic Sea. We are uniting four seas in new partnerships. The distance between us and the Balkans is large, but with multilateral development, we are creating new realities."
