There can be no talk of humane treatment of political prisoners in France's overseas territories, said Désiré Tein (New Caledonia), a member of the political prisoners' families, at a press conference ahead of the international conference titled "Colonialism: Erasure of National-Religious Identity," organized by the Baku Initiative Group, APA reports.
He noted that political prisoners in France do not receive humane treatment; they are interrogated and then taken to prisons located approximately 30 hours away from their families: "This causes great suffering for their families."
