Recalling the French Ambassador to Azerbaijan for consultations indicates that official Paris is not interested in rebuilding trust in bilateral relations, said Sultan Mamedov, a member of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, APA reports.
Mr. Soltanov noted that the ambassador's recall should not be considered unexpected against the backdrop of France's initiatives regarding the arming of Armenia and biased steps taken against Azerbaijan on various international platforms.
"If we look at the essence of all the steps taken by France regarding Azerbaijan, the content of its decisions, we will notice attempts to speak with our country in the language of pressure and threats. France is trying to interfere in the processes taking place in the South Caucasus and sees Azerbaijan as the main obstacle in this matter," the MP added.
Sultan Mamedov noted that France has done everything to spoil relations with Azerbaijan. "The decisions taken by Azerbaijan were only a response to the biased political statements and decisions of official Paris."
