The founding meeting of the Turkic Forensic Expertise Network was held in Baku with the participation of delegations from 15 forensic examination institutions of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the Ministry of Justice told APA.
It was reported that within the framework of the event, participants visited the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor, the Alley of Martyrs, the “Turkish Martyrdom” monument, and Victory Park.
Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan Abiddin Huseynov, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Türkiye Can Tuncay, Ambassador of Türkiye to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün, and Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Ömer Kocaman attended the founding meeting.
At the same time, responsible officials of forensic examination institutions of the Republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan also participated in the event.
Within the framework of the meeting, presentations were delivered by the forensic examination institutions of the participating countries. The presentations provided information on the forensic systems of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, existing capabilities, and prospects for future cooperation.
At the end of the event, a Memorandum on the Turkic Forensic Expertise Network was signed.
Note that this initiative is of great importance in terms of expanding the exchange of experience in the field of forensic expertise among Turkic states, strengthening institutional cooperation, and forming unified approaches.
