“Moldova’s acquisition of European Union candidate status is a good step in the direction of my country becoming more independent and secure. I think that in this perspective, Moldova will become a member of the European Union in the near future,” said Chiril Gaburici, former Prime Minister of Moldova who’s participating in the XI Global Baku Forum, in his interview with APA.
He said that because current situation is not ordinary, normal: “I would say that this process is moving faster due to the situation in Ukraine. Of course, we have many things to do as a state. We are doing our “homework”. We are carrying out reforms in the legal, judicial system, and etc. accordingly with EU standards. There’re so many work to do, however, we have an obligation to do these things and everyone in Moldova is working to make it happen.”
