“Azerbaijan and Moldova have historically been very close to each other,” said Chiril Gaburici, former Prime Minister of Moldova who’s participating in the XI Global Baku Forum, in his interview with APA.
He said that Azerbaijan and Moldova had good economic relations: "Maybe it was small in terms of scale.”
According to former minister, Azerbaijanis live and the Azerbaijani diaspora operates in Moldova: "Diaspora is very strong and active, they implement various programs. I know that Azerbaijan has a rich culture."
Gaburici noted that the embassies of both countries cooperate closely and make efforts to increase economic cooperation between them: “Another matter is related to energy cooperation. Recently, we have had discussions with Azerbaijan regarding gas purchase. We purchase oil from abroad, but I think that Azerbaijan can be one of the best partners for us in this field as well.”
