The dissolution of the UN could be a tragedy for the world, said the President of the 62nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly and former Foreign Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Srgjan Kerim, during the panel Reimagining Multilateralism for a Multipolar World within the framework of the XII Global Baku Forum on the topic “Rethinking the World Order: Turning Challenges into Opportunities”, APA reports.
Srgjan Kerim emphasized the importance of not forgetting the geo-economic factor: "Today, we are discussing the changes in U.S. policy. This is not due to the election of a new president but is related to the relationship between geopolitics and geo-economics. The U.S. administration says, 'I have invested this much, what has been the result?' The new order will be about the balance of powers or interests, and there is still no answer to this. The dissolution of the UN could be a tragedy for the world. The US should not withdraw from the UN. The time for reform of the UN Security Council is long overdue. If there is the G20, why shouldn’t the composition of the UN Security Council be changed accordingly?!"
