"Any global problem, regardless of its severity, should be resolved only through negotiations and discussions," said former President of Latvia Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga during a press conference dedicated to the XII Global Baku Forum, APA reports.
According to her, considering Russia's military intervention in Ukraine, significant global issues causing concern should only be addressed through dialogue: "Today, tensions between countries worldwide raise serious concerns. In such circumstances, it is crucial for conflicting parties to achieve a ceasefire. We believe that any global problem, regardless of its severity, should be resolved solely through negotiations and discussions. We are witnessing dramatic changes worldwide. In such a complex situation as Russia's military intervention in Ukraine, discussing pressing global issues among participating countries is of great importance."
