"Azerbaijan is pleased with the development of economic relations with Germany," Elmar Mammadov, Head of the Economic Cooperation Department of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, said at an event held on the occasion of the German Unity Day, APA reports.
"Germany is one of the 10 countries that invests the most in the non-oil and gas sector of Azerbaijan. Last year, the volume of trade turnover reached 1.6 billion US dollars. In the first eight months of this year, this figure amounted to 1 billion US dollars. Germany is currently ranked fifth among Azerbaijan's foreign trade partners and second among European countries," Elmar Mammadov noted.
