Every war entails very serious risks, and it is impossible to predict it within a single geography or set of rules, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said this at a joint press conference held after the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Georgia in Istanbul, APA reports.
The minister stated that the Azerbaijani state has always emphasized the importance of taking steps to stop wars, find diplomatic solutions, achieve at least an initial ceasefire, and subsequently establish lasting peace: “Today, we are witnessing the expansion of the geography of the Russia-Ukraine war and observing its tragic consequences. Three days ago, as a result of a drone attack on two vessels, four Azerbaijani citizens were killed and four others were injured. As long as this war continues, no one is insured against such incidents. It is extremely important to strategically stop ongoing military conflicts. First of all, this brings major disasters for the parties to the conflict, while also posing serious threats to neighboring countries, regional states and the world at large.”
The minister also appealed to both Azerbaijani citizens and citizens of brotherly and friendly countries: “They should stay away from military conflict zones and strictly observe security measures there. As the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, we regularly make such appeals.”
